Christmas in Cali....was nice. We spent the day at my brothers place, watching The Christmas Story and Ren and Stimpy. I was feeling a little under the weather but I tried to enjoy my family time. Evan cooked lamb tangine and tofu tagine for me. It was yummy and a nice change from turkey or ham. We had eggnog cheesecake and pistachio cookies for dessert...yum. My mom and I came back to the hotel and watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. This is one of my favorite movies and I haven't watched it in 2 years...I wonder whyyy. I love that movie.

So this x-mas didn't seem like a huge holiday, which I really liked. Not a big deal, not a huge present exchange, just spending time with good people. I now have to do a lot of stuff in our last days in San Francisco. And though I am looking forward to spending this time with my mom, I also am looking forward to starting a New Year with great people at home, in Richmond. <3

California Dreamin

Well after a lot of drama at 6am on Monday morning...I made my way to San Francisco at midnight yesterday. We have since walked a shit ton, explored the city. and saw where my brother works. He gets paid to sell fancy shit to people and cook fancy foods in a restaurant called, Boulettes Larder, in a place called The Ferry Building, which is so amazing. It a fancy market. Full of specialty stores, for...mushrooms, olive oils, teas, vegetables, meats, cheeses, bread, caviar, wine, spices, gelato, cakes...it is incredible. I could sample things all day. There is an amazing kitchen supply store there as well. I walked through this place multiple times yesterday wishing I could share that time with my friends. You all would have flipped your shit.

Now I lay in my hotel bed, so sore from walking, ha. Drinking yummy tea from Colorado with homemade biscotti and preparing to get up and take the bus to go grocery shopping in cheap Mexican markets with my brother for Christmas dinner. We will be sharing Christmas with his boyfriend and roommate. My brother's roommate was a drag queen model on Project Runway last season...he is absolutely fabulous and his house is so incredible. I am very jealous. It is full of 50's antiques and vintage suitcases. The kitchen is full of vintage pyrex, it is my dream.

It is safe to say...I am happy. I love San Francisco. I love being able to spend time with my Mom and my brother. I am looking foward to the rest of my trip. Merry Christmas Eve!

That was the worst semester I have had ever. But hey, it's all over...time to start anew! No more work for a while. Looks like there is lots of baking in my near future...and a good show this weekend.

I've got a positive outlook on everything right now.

Accept your life and what it brings

So school is out for a good month. I am so stoked. I have already felt weight lifted off my shoulders. Staying up, sleeping in, baking, going out, dancing, cleaning, cocktail parties...life is good! I also have really enjoyed not having much TV to watch...music is my life, it completes every day, I am so glad to have found it again, to really listen to it, and expand my horizons.

And...there will always be little things that get to me, but I have learned to deal...I have grown up a lot I think.

I have a huge list of things to do before I leave Richmond for a little bit. Here is to hoping I get it all done. Then...California here I come.

Also I realized...I know who I am (or at least learning a great deal) and I am comfortable :)

the worst semester of my life (academic wise) will be over in 13ish hours! woooo.

i can't wait. im looking forward to actually sleeping.

I am a dancing fool...I don't know why I didn't start going to parties earlier! My eye might be the reason why...black eyes are no fun...in the morning you can't seee! But now I really lived up to my name! Bernie Bruiser is here.

A clean room makes my heart swoon...haha. I love when I can find things. I did my overly organized stuff last night...I miss having my shit together :) And clean sheets...mmmm.

I want...o man I want...I can't even say it. Let's just say I want some cheese to my macaroni.
